deleting caches from a hand held GPS

How to delete caches from a GPSr depends on how caches were loaded onto the GPSr. In either case, you would need to connect your GPSr to your computer (in mass storage mode) and browse to the \Garmin\GPX folder via your computer.

-- If you loaded each cache singly, then you can delete that individual .gpx file. For example, delete GC12345.gpx from the \Garmin\GPX folder.

-- If you loaded caches via a PQ, then you'd have to delete the entire PQ. For example, delete 12345678.gpx and 12345678-wpts.gpx from the \Garmin\GPX folder. This means that all of the caches in that PQ would be deleted. Note, it is possible to delete individual caches from within the PQ .gpx files, but it may be a bit complicated if you're not comfortable editing the .gpx files in a text editor.

Noncentric has really good advice!

However, If you don't want to mess around with the GPS's folders every time you want to delete caches, you can download a program called Garmin basecamp. Not only will it allow you to see all the caches you've downloaded on a map, but it allows you to delete the caches quickly and easily. The names of the caches appear on a sidebar and you just need to select them and press delete on your keypad. I'm not too sure if basecamp will work with pocket queries though.
