+AGamerandSon
I am sure this has been asked million+ times. I have a Pocket Query with 1000 caches around our home. I have a premium account. How do I upload them all to my Garmin 650t at once? I have been able to add them one at a time but don't want to do that 1000 times! Thanks Quote Link to comment

Thanks You'll place GPX files into the Oregon's “Garmin/GPX” folder. One way is to download the Pocket Query, then unzip it and move the resulting GPX files (typically two GPX files, which is one file of the caches, one with waypoints). But first, read and closely follow the Pocket Query info here: http://support.Groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=118 Don't skip any steps at first, but here are the highlights. You select a day for the PQ to run. Then you wait for it to run. You get an email when it's ready. Download the zip file, and unzip it, place it onto the GPSr in the GPX folder. It can be kind of confusing, but you do NOT send 1000 individual cache files from the PQ Preview list of caches. You download one zip file. There's one more leetle gotcha that you may want to take care of immediately: Backup and then delete all the files in the Garmin/GPX folder on the GPSr. Especially if you've been saving LOC files, there will be strange problems until you clear all of that out of the folder. It's a Garmin thing. Edited October 1, 2016 by kunarion Quote Link to comment
+lee737
This is my routine.... I have all saved waypoints and tracks in the Garmin/GPX folder on the internal memory. On the SD card, I also have a Garmin/GPX folder, only for geocaching GPX files. Connect the GPS to the PC, delete the contents of the Garmin/GPX folder on SD card. Eject GPS, power it on. It powers up with no geocaches in memory. Power it off. Connect to PC. Copy the GPX files from your PQ download into the empty Garmin/GPX folder on the SD card. Power GPS up and find some caches. And during the above, keep a copy of your main Garmin/GPX folder somewhere. (I forgot to lock the screen once (well, I've done that a hundred times), and pulled the GPS out of my pocket to find about 40 settings changed, and every waypoint I'd ever saved deleted.) This seems pretty convoluted, and I agree, but it seems to reduce my number of crashes. I use the SD card for caches, because when it does crash hard, I can remove the SD card and get the GPS rebooted..... and still have my waypoints. Quote Link to comment

Select a day to run the PQ, click submit information and wait for an email telling you the PQ is ready for download. Download the zipfile, unzip and put both GPS files in your garmin/gpx folder. Optionally, once the pocket query results have been downloaded to your computer, you can read the zipfile into a waypoint manager such as GSAK, Basecamp, or Easy/ExpertGPS. That way you can combine multiple pocket query results, do additional filtering, and review the results before using the "Send to GPS" feature of the waypoint manager to send all the waypoints to your GPS.
