geocaching app and maps

Hello to all. I am new to Geocaching and have logged about 28 to date. When I first started to use the geocaching app I was able to transfer over to Google Maps through the app. Now for the past few days when I try to go to Google maps to find driving directions to a location it will not work. I push on Google Maps in the geocaching app and nothing happens. I would greatly appreciate and help that anyone can offer. Oh I am using an I-phone. thank you in advance.
