Og's outfit Posted May 21, 2003 Posted May 21, 2003 I'm quite new, (a few measley months), but I dropped my first TB in a cache in a local park. This is a great hike guys! I've done it several times and have taken kids as young as 5 on it. There are many "easy" finds in Enumclaw on your way up to this cache. I really don't want to move my bug....I'd look at it as a failure, but it's been there for over 2 months! I'll give it a few more weeks, or months. Trust me guys, there is no snow here and the whole hike, roung trip is about 45 minutes, if you go slow! DO THE DAM HIKE!!! Prophetically Challenged Quote
evergreenhiker! Posted May 21, 2003 Posted May 21, 2003 I'll see if I can get down there and hit a bunch. Sounds like a fun hike to do...always looking for more trails. Quote
Og's outfit Posted May 21, 2003 Author Posted May 21, 2003 Thank you Mr. evergreen! I've seen you on the boards and like what I've seen. If you do come up to our neck of the woods and do the Dam hike, I think you'd also enjoy this one too! It's just a few miles up from Mud Mountain, and quite a find! Just don't do it alone! I say grab this one now, before the forest has a chance to grow too dense. And don't give up! If you need a clue or two, let me know or ask GEM's. Happy caching! Prophetically Challenged Quote

chubby forest monkey Posted May 22, 2003 Posted May 22, 2003 Og's Outfit, I'm just curious. Do you know that "mr" evergreenhiker is in fact a man? The reason I ask is because I have twice been called Mr monkey, and I am often referred to as he. I don't think my name implies any gender. It was amusing at first, but now it's starting to bug me. +pdxmarathonman Posted May 22, 2003 Posted May 22, 2003 Unless his profile pciture is a ruse, I would've guessed male And from your profile I could tell with certainty that your baby is a boy because of the blue clothes (plus, you mention his name - which is the name my daughter would've been named had she been my son instead) Quote
Bodoni Posted May 22, 2003 Posted May 22, 2003 Change o' subject (sort of) This thread made me check out your profile, chubby forest monkey. It says 'Other Hobbies: PNW native plants'. That's what I need! I'm always wondering what this is and what that is while I'm geohunting. I especially wonder things like, 'What the heck is this?', 'How poisonous is this?', 'Is this as painful as it looks?', 'What's a nice plant like you doing in a place like this?', and the ever-popular 'Is this edible?' I'd love to latch on to someone who knows the answers to all of those questions! With my luck I'd hook up with a literalist who would just keep saying, 'That's not native.' Quote
Og's outfit Posted May 22, 2003 Author Posted May 22, 2003 Boy you guys really did get "off topic!" I agree Bodoni, having a horticulturist along would be really cool! I try to stay away from the "What the H%*@ is THAT" plants, but sometimes I see mushrooms that I really wonder about. (I read a story about 3 'shroom finders that had to have liver transplants after eating their find!) But anyway, back to the subject.....if any of you really want to seek cahes in the Enumclaw area, our zip is 98022. For some reason this search doesn't give all the ones in our town. Also look under the Buckley zip, 98321 There are a few enumclaw ones that turn up there. OG Prophetically Challenged Quote
Og's outfit Posted May 23, 2003 Author Posted May 23, 2003 UPDATE: A couple of people snagged my TB yesterday! I'm happy about that but in their logs they griped about the cache and the hike. Please don't let them disuade you from checking out this trail. It's a nice walk in the woods and NOT creepy at all! OG Prophetically Challenged Quote

evergreenhiker! Posted May 27, 2003 Posted May 27, 2003 Not that I needed any more encouraging to go caching in your area, I got a token for a free mug of beer at a local enumclaw tavern from the Wrath... cache up by Lake Serene off Highway 2. I'll grab a cold one after doing that Falls cache. Looking forward to that one! Quote
