I grabbed a trackable but cannot log it.

Yesterday I grabbed a trackable from a cache but I couldn't log it in the app on my phone.

Later on I tried to log it from my computer. This was also not possible.

Then I tried to find the trackable on its name and couldn't find it either.

What Now???

There are lots of pros in the forum who can help, but you need to explain a bit more about what went wrong. What did you do and what message did you get? You do have the TB's code, correct?

1) A Geocaching.com trackable MUST be imprinted with either, "Trackable on Geocaching.com" or "Track on Geocaching.com."

If you're not seeing that, it's not trackable on Geocaching.com

 

2) Use the tracking code to grab it. Be careful, all numbers and letters are in use and sometimes a "letter" is a "number" or vice versa:

B can look like 8,

I can look like 1

E and look like 5 or with some wear 8

O can look like 0 (zero) etc.

 

Keep trying alternate versions of any unclear letter/number combos.

Problem is solved.

 

I've sent scount-on a private message in Dutch because I discovered he posted a photo of the trackable with the log of the cache he found. Since the code was visible I didn't want to respond here on the forum before it was removed (to avoid fake logs). The trackable was not logged in the cache, it had been missing for 2 years. But now he was able to log it, so the TB owner must be very happy!
