+ScoutMom5
My Etrex 10 worked fine one day and the next day it was messed up. I turn it on, the Garmin logo comes on. Then a second Garmin logo page with words under it comes on. Then a white screen. I did call Garmin and I do not have money right now to do an exchange. I am a scout leader and one of the scouts is earning his Geocaching Merit Badge. He don't have a handheld or phone, so he was using mine. We were going to set up some caches and now we cannot. Does anyone have any last ditch effort I could try? (oh and he did not touch the Etrex, we were to meet next week) Quote Link to comment
+cerberus1
Did they ask you to do a hard (or master) reset? Might work (with might being the key...). I think there's even youtube vids on how to do it now. Quote Link to comment
+Touchstone
If the hard reset doesn't work, you might try loading a different firmware update. I had a similar problem with my Garmin CO, and going back to an earlier firmware version that was more stable did the trick for me. Quote Link to comment
+Mineral2
Does it mount to your computer as a drive? The likely culprit is a corrupted .gpx file that just needs to be deleted off of the device. If the drive mounts, your device is not hosed. Quote Link to comment
