+Trafcon Posted March 23, 2003 Posted March 23, 2003 I need to apologize to the area cachers. Due to classes I have to attend new job position and working 12 on 12 off with the current events, I have been unable follow up on the event I was preparing for on April 4th. I am sorry. If anyone wants to pick up and run with that date fine go ahead. Keep caching. KTF !!! GBWY !!! Quote
+Maps-R-Us Posted March 23, 2003 Posted March 23, 2003 We were supposed to attend your event but, the h*** with that, now we will work on replacing some lost caches! Sorry you had to cancel! Quote
Sassquatch Posted March 24, 2003 Posted March 24, 2003 I mean, dang, what a shame. Especialy since I'll be in Texas. Seems like the only way I get to come to these things is when I have a box for everyone to unlock. What the h***. My but your a fickle bunch. Maybe I will have to unleash the power of the spike in order to get a little love around here, sniff, sniff. Truly, sorry to see your plans go south Trafcon. Best of luck. Quote
+kiwimonster Posted March 24, 2003 Posted March 24, 2003 All our schedules are clear. We ought to do something. After all, it's been, well, DAYS since a crowd got together. Let's all raise a glass, and remember our good friend Trafcon, who cannot be with us that evening. Alas - we hardly knew ye. Quote
+Trafcon Posted March 24, 2003 Author Posted March 24, 2003 I didn't say that I couldn't be there just that my schedule was not allowing me to host an event because of the uncertainty. If there's not rioting in the streets I may be clear and able to attend if someone else wants to pick up the ball. KTF !!! GBWY !!! Quote
soup Posted March 24, 2003 Posted March 24, 2003 Since you are covering the "riots".. How about we have our own GEOriot? Could you attend then? We can plant caches in the middle of the street and yell "H astrisk astrisk astrisk NO! We wont go!" Or something. Other ideas? -S Quote
+kiwimonster Posted March 24, 2003 Posted March 24, 2003 A riot! What a great idea! Let's all picket Dr. Isotope's house with "No Nuking" signs. Except that is probably outside Trafcon's jurisdiction. Not that I know for sure what his jurisdiction is... Quote

+bazzle Posted April 1, 2003 Posted April 1, 2003 Just curious if we have a space yet? And does anyone know the kid friendly cut-off time (if there is one here)? May have to bring kiddo along (if unable to rustle a sitter stand-in from my little sis)... My mind not only wanders... Sometimes it leaves completely... **Namaste** Quote
+fractal Posted April 1, 2003 Posted April 1, 2003 Haven't reserved a space yet.. I was waiting to see how many people we might have. I'll post an event page here shortly, and have people post a not if they plan on showing up. And as far as I know, it's all ages all the time. -fractal Quote
+Bodoni Posted April 1, 2003 Posted April 1, 2003 Just my note that I'll be there at 6:30-7:00. Quote
soup Posted April 1, 2003 Posted April 1, 2003 If the mountain cooperates, the weather subsides, and I havent lost a limb snowboarding Meadows, you can count two of us in on the fun. I still think we need to have a Quiet GEOriot!! Bang your Head!! What's the difference between roast beef and pea soup? Anyone can roast beef. Quote
+fractal Posted April 1, 2003 Posted April 1, 2003 Ok... Event cache has been submitted. Please post a note if you plan on attending -fractal Quote
+fractal Posted April 1, 2003 Posted April 1, 2003 And speaking of McMenamins gatherings, it's only 88 days until the Barley Mill 20th Anniversary Party... -fractal Quote
+fractal Posted April 2, 2003 Posted April 2, 2003 I checked with the folks at Imbrie hall today, and apparently they don't reserve space inside the hall on Friday nights.... So... 2 options: A) Just show up and take over (Geo-Riot style!) 2) I can reserve the house, but it's not free unless we meet a minimum food/drink purchase. I'll see what I can dig up for info about the house... -fractal Quote
+fractal Posted April 3, 2003 Posted April 3, 2003 Well, they have no other space available. So, it looks like we're taking over Geo-Riot style! I'll be there at 6:30-ish, so if anyone gets there sooner, put up a big Geocaching flag so we can start to claim a space. -fractal Quote
+Quantum Mechanic Posted April 3, 2003 Posted April 3, 2003 How late are y'all planning on being there? I usually get my first break around 9:30pm. I'm hoping some of you will still be there. Quantum Mechanics: The dreams stuff is made of. Quote
+Team JOYSON Posted April 4, 2003 Posted April 4, 2003 WoW! They're going to wish they had rented out the other room to us. If everyone that posted on the cache page actually shows up (not counting people coming late) we're going to have like 30+ people there . Come early & claim your seat! We really are taking over! +pdxmarathonman Posted April 4, 2003 Posted April 4, 2003 quote: Come early & claim your seat! We really are taking over! There's good reason for the name of this event, Geo-Riot! We'll have the place to ourselves by the time Quantum shows up! Quote
+fractal Posted April 4, 2003 Posted April 4, 2003 dadgum right we're taking over! heheh And FYI: Parking will suck, but there's a BIG Fred Meyer parking lot right across Imbrie Rd. -fractal Quote
