Pardon my ingnorance. But you want convert a latitude into a longitude? How should that work?

I, too, am confused. You are asking how to "convert" a latitude into a longitude and vice versa.

 

I don't think that's possible.

How would you convert from a fraction of an hour to minutes, or vice versa? Degrees, minutes, and seconds are really the same thing as hours, minutes, and seconds.

 

So as an example:

 

46.123456° =

46° + 0.123456° =

46° + (0.123456 * 60)' =

46° + 7.40736' =

46° + 7' + 0.40736' =

46° + 7' + (0.40736 * 60)" =

46° + 7' + 24.4416"
