+acachebox Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 I grabbed a TB that was not activated so I can not log it. I have attempted to contact the cacher that I think placed it but have not heard from him. If he does not respond is there a way I can activate it? Quote
+fuzziebear3 Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 yes, you would follow the steps to activate a trackable. Quote
+cerberus1 Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 Was there a notice of some sort saying the trackable's unactivated? Often, letters/numbers get mixed (such as 1 for I, or o /oh for 0 /zero), which might make the trackable appear so. We've left unactivated coins as swag on occasion, but write on the plastic that it is swag. Quote

Hopefully it's not https://coord.info/GC6M5D4 Pin Oaks Loop Trail Was it just a set of dog tags, or was there something attached? If there is no previous logs saying "dropped unactivated travel tags", I would not assume that these are a gift or swag. B. Edited June 28, 2016 by Pup Patrol Quote

Curious why you focused on and ask about THAT cache. There was no previous log saying "dropped unactivated TB". looking at the cacher I believe he was just not familiar with TBs and works for the township where the cache is from his user name. B. Quote

And of course the TB you are talking about is not the one that trowel32 dropped in the cache, because that one is clearly not unactivated. https://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?guid=6fd5f16b-a5fb-448e-8a8a-fd94d7a4ed72 Quote

Pup Patrol Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 I read her log several times and never saw the reference to dropping a TB. I am contacting her. Do you mean the "found it" log by trowel32 of 21 June: The coords were good and it was not visible from the trail but it was kind of funny, I noticed it due to a reflection off the container once I got close, which was kind of unusual. I signed in and dropped off a TB. I didn't take a bookmark but they are very nice!. So, which TB and which cache are you talking about, since you have now logged the retrieve for "Logan" TB out of https://coord.info/GC6M5D4 Pin Oaks Loop Trail. Life would be so much simpler if people would state the name of the trackable that they are dropping or retrieving. Far less confusion. B. Quote
