App doesn't save state properly

If I scroll to a location on the map, then quit the app (double tap home button, swipe up) or the app crashes (regular occurrence), then relaunch, the map will default to my current location instead of where I scrolled to. Standard iOS behaviour is to resume exactly as if I'd never left the app.
