+Rogue3D
My Garmin etrex 20 screen got scratched while climbing over some boulders. Anyone know if there is a way to replace this? Prefer to do it myself. Found some screens on ebay, but were from chinese manufactures and would take a while to get to the states. Plus they didn't seem to have good documentation on how to fix this. Quote Link to comment
+noncentric
I found this article, which makes it sounds like quite a chore. The article is about a 30, but I'm assuming it's pretty similar to repairing a 20. This Russian seller has some simple instructions in his add for just the glass. Might be easier and quicker to replace the entire front cover. There's this one from Russia. Still takes a bit of time for shipping, but might still be quicker than shipping from China. Thanks, I saw those screens but not the article. Does look like quite a bit of work. Maybe i'll see if Garmin can fix it. Quote Link to comment
+Walts Hunting
Garmin will exchange it for a fee. You dontbget yours back. Afterwards you might want to invest in a screen protectr. Lots cheaper tan repair. Quote Link to comment
Pacific NW
I've seen some reports anecdotally that applying a good quality screen protector (Zagg, etc.) to an already-scratched screen can minimize the appearance of the damage. No firsthand experience with this, but for around $10 it might be worth a try. Quote Link to comment
