+kunarion
How do you use the APP to hide a geocache? It would not be ideal to use the official Geocaching App for that purpose, except maybe to measure distances to other caches once you find a cool spot. You should find a general GPS App. The free version of Commander Compass would be great. Bring a notepad, since that App is a demo and won't save waypoints. But you will see the coords displayed live. Quote Link to comment
+The A-Team
To add to what kunarion said, don't just take a single reading. Chances are it will be a bit off. Rather, take multiple readings at various times and average them to improve your accuracy. Also, once you have a prospective set of coordinates, use an app to navigate to them and see how close they bring you. Adjust as necessary. Quote Link to comment
+noncentric
To the OP: Using the advice of the previous posts will help you get good coordinates for your hide. To actually create your cache listing, then you'll need to go to the Play->Hide a Geocache page on the website. You cannot create a cache listing using the app. Please be sure to read through the Listing Requirements/Guidelines, which are linked on that Hide a Geocache page. Quote Link to comment
+SageTracey
As well as taking multiple readings on your device, see if you can take readings on other devices. For example, when I hide, I take multiple coordinates readings with my GPSr, my iPhone and my husband's Samsung. Quote Link to comment
