+jonboy Posted December 5, 2002 Posted December 5, 2002 I am down in Gainesville Fl, caching right now. Would a guy who hunts geocaches while attending to his father's funeral qualify as having a real sickness? I find it great therapy to relieve the stress. I must say that I haven't thought much of the caching down here so far. How does one get above a one star in terrain difficulty here? Perhaps spelunking, if GPS reception wasn't an issue. I have four travel bugs with me, but I'm not sure I would be doing a travel bug owner much of a favor moving caches here, it would be kind of like being sending them back to kindergarden. Perhaps those that love New Jersey's infamous swamp caches would be in Hog Heaven here, but I would rather hunt caches on snowshoes with an iceaxe and shovel. I'll have to see how many finds I manage when I get home before I can speak with any authority on that subject. Quote
+briansnat Posted December 5, 2002 Posted December 5, 2002 Jonboy, Sorry to hear about the circumstances that brought you to Fla. The loss of a parent is always difficult, so please accept my condolences. As far as Fla., is there some law that says when you reach a certain age, you have to move to Florida? This law also seems to say that men have to wear brightly colored, polyester pants and women have to get THAT hair-do as soon as they retire. I've been to Fla and didn't like it. Hot, sticky, no mountains, no snow and lots of bugs. I never saw the point. I really hope there isn't a law stating that I must move there when I retire. I'd hate it. Give me the Catskills, VT, or Wyoming. "You can't make a man by standing a sheep on its hind legs, but by standing a flock of sheep in that position, you can make a crowd of men" -Max Beerbohm Quote
mortonfox Posted December 5, 2002 Posted December 5, 2002 Hot? Sticky? Lots of bugs? I'd say we have a bit of Florida every summer. Quote
