quick question

I all, fairly new and I had a couple questions. Hope this is the right place to ask, if not please move.

 

1. I have found a couple letterbox caches and was interested in placing one. Is there anything special that needs to be done other then adding a stamp, inkpad and book for stamping? Didn’t know if they were associated with another website or group.

 

2. How do you post pics in the forum? I tried pasting in the img from photobucket but it didn’t work for me. Do you need a certain number of posts before you can post photos?

#1 - Nope.

- Though most we've been to had some sorta directions to find the "final".

#2 - I just use one of our archived cache's gallery.

Photobucket seems to work for me.

ok got it to work. had to reduce size of file.

#1 - Sounds like you have everything you need to hide Letterbox Hybrid cache.

#2 - How are you entering the Photobucket img?

 

To add from Photobucket:

-- get the "Direct" link for the image from Photobucket

-- in the forum click on the small photo icon above the message box (2 icons to the right of the smiley face)

-- paste the "Direct" link for the image into the input box that pops up

-- click "Insert Image" in that same pop-up

 

The photo icon is visible when you start a new topic.

If you are replying in an existing thread, then you won't see the photo icon if you're replying in the "Fast Reply" box at the bottom of the thread. You would need to click on "Use Full Editor".

file size must have been to large. that was the way I was trying to insert. after I reduced the file size it worked.

That's it. It's about the stamp. You don't need the ink pad. In fact it may end up damaging the contents of the cache by getting ink all over everything. Do you want to hide a letterbox because you like the stamp aspect?

There is a letterboxing website if you are interested in the more traditional style of letter boxing, where hand carved stamps are encouraged, and directional clues not GPS coordinates.

I was at the craft store with my wife and saw they had a whole isle of stamps. thought a couple would go nice with a themed cache I had planned.

would also be nice to have a larger variety of caches out.
