+lakeloon
We have been using a Delorme PN-40. It has fried itself and we are in need of a new gps. I really liked the PN-40, but could never figure out how to do pocket queries on it. Knowing that we are senior citizens and not very tech savy, what would be a good gps for us to purchase as a replacement? Quote Link to comment
+geodarts
What is your budget? Do you prefer buttons or touch screen? What do you want to do with your GPSr - do you have any features in mind that are important to you? I do most of my caching with the phone, but have a Garmin Oregon 600 and have used a Montana and 62s in the past (among others). None of them have been hard for me to use. Pocket Queries are more a function of the website, but there are lots of people to ask for help with kind of issues. Garmins are not perfect but I like the availability of a number of free maps and they work well with my phone. Ultimately your preferences (budget and interface) are the most important. 39_Steps
Procedure for loading PQs onto an SD card folder is similar for both Delorme and Garmin devices: Download, unzip, and copy the entire file. Quote Link to comment
