GC5 & Terrace Pond Sunday?

Anyone interested in heading to GC5 Sunday afternoon? (2:00 or so?). I figured I'd swing by Terrace pond on the way back and make a nice loop hike of it.

I'm open to suggestions or alternative cache plans but have a scout camporee for most of the weekend and hope to get a good hike in Sunday afternoon - would be great to have some company....

I would love too, but I'll be down in Cape May this weekend at the event down there. Still some piney caches I havent hit yet!

The Magster has a new one up there and there is my lonely Terrace Pond cache as well. I'm in!

That's 60-90 minutes from home for us, but we're looking to get out after a miserable last 2 weeks. Let us know the meeting location and time (is it still 2pm?). If we go out it will be in the morning, so we'll need to align our schedules.

FYI, best parking for this is on Clinton Road, by the gasline cut (I'm guessing about 10 miles or so north of Rt 23).

It's looking less and less like I'll be there, but keep me in the loop just in case.

Jonboy's log from yesterday:

That is one heck of a bushwack to find a mouse eaten, almost empty cache. I don't suppose maintenance would be likely, I don't think I will be going back soon. I left a whistle, a frog, a pencil and a sharpener. I came at the cache from the south, leaving the yellow trail just before it cut down. There was a fairly open ledge formation that I could follow almost all the way to the cache. From the yellow trail, it wasn't too far to the new Bearfort Ridge cache.

So I guess we should bring a new container along with us. The meter edged towards my going now.

How about if we meet at the Clinton Rd parking area (N41.08.795, W74.24.232) at 2:30?

Some of you have my cell phone #, so give me a call and let me know what's up. I'll be out all morning and won't be logging on again.

I'm probably out as well (sorry!).

Just back from the cub scout camporee - not a whole lot of sleep last night so I'm planning a nice hike to the couch this afternoon. Maybe I'll find something cached in the cushions!

Great trip to a couple of great caches. GC5 is probably one of the more challenging cache hunts in the state, terrain-wise. I suggest any NJ geocacher worth his or her salt, give this one a stab.

These group hunts are a blast. I'm looking forward to more of them. It was good time thanks to BeeGees, Etoast66 and Hartclimbs.

What a great nap!

I had a strange dream I was off caching this afternoon instead of lounging on the sofa.

Strange thing was - I woke up with sticks and leaves in my hair and two ticks on my arm.

Seriously - had a fun time today with BeeGees, BrianSnat, and EToast. I'm glad things came together and it was a great hike! I'm getting to be a big fan of these group outings...
