+MeanderingMs
Forgive me if this has been discussed before. We are planning several trips to different states caching the state stars. How do I find any events that may be going on in the area that we will be in ? Thanks so much ! MeanderingMs Quote Link to comment
+J Grouchy
Search by location, add filter --> check only "Event" cache type and change the radius (up to 30 miles). Example for Portlant, OR with a 20 mile radius... https://www.geocaching.com/play/search/@45.52345,-122.67621?origin=Portland,+Oregon&ot=3&g=331859&radius=20mi&types=6,13,453,1304,3653,3774,4738,7005 Edited September 23, 2015 by J Grouchy Quote Link to comment
+Zekester & Simon
We've found it quite useful to schedule an event in an area where we know we'll be at a specific time. In America, Panera's work well, as they have free WiFi, and menu choices that appeal to most, and are pay-as-you-go, with no wait staff. In your event description make clear that you are from out of town, looking for recommendations on hides to search for from local cachers, and hoping to meat locals who may have hidden some of the hides you have searched for while you were there. We have thad great success with this, hope you do to. Quote Link to comment
+vw_k
If you know what state you will be in on certain dates then you can check the events calendar which is under the Community tab on the Geocaching home page. Each day on the calendar shows which states have events listed for that day. You can then click on the day followed by the cache listing for more details. Quote Link to comment
