Adopting Geocaches

After suffering an injury while caching this summer I am unable to maintain several of my caches. I would like to place them up for adoption and have someone in line who would take them for me. Can anyone tell me how to do this? Thank you for any and all help.

Is there an way to see what caches are up for adoption in your area if you don't know the specific cache owner?

Is there an way to see what caches are up for adoption in your area if you don't know the specific cache owner?

I've seen cache owners post to local forums asking for volunteers; other local forum members can see such requests.

 

I've seen cache owners post Notes to their caches asking for volunteers; those watching the cache listing can see such requests.

 

I've seen cache owners contact individuals privately as well, but if you aren't the one being contacted, there is no way to see such requests.

 

But there is no official way to announce your cache is up for adoption to any/all geocachers.

This is a concept I've advocated for in the past. Would be nice to be able to see which caches are up for adoption and which caches are scheduled to be archived.
