GCEdo
Trying to figure out if Kingston upon Thames is part of London or South East England region (Groundspeak created regions). Found one cache there that is listed as South East England and Project GC doesn't recognise it as South East England but rather as London. I know that Kingston upon Thames was part of Surrey before and now part of London, but not sure in which region did Groundspeak put it. Edited September 3, 2015 by GCEdo Quote Link to comment
+mellers
Generally speaking, in the UK a cache's Groundspeak Region will be determined by which UK county it's in. Wikipedia tells me that Kingston On Thames is in the county of Greater London: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingston_upon_Thames and the Geocaching Wiki tells me that that county has a region all of its own as per this map: https://wiki.Groundspeak.com/display/GEO/UK+Regional+Map#UKRegionalMap-map As the Region is selected by the CO rather than being selected automatically, anomalies created by human error will creep in from time to time and if not challenged by the reviewer, will remain in place. Rather than use pre-existing caches as a guide, I'd refer to the map. Unless you have some local knowledge that tells you Kingston isn't in Greater London, choose 'London' for this one.
