We are moving soon We will be moving out of the area, and will be unable to look after our series of caches We own the "Walking the dogs" series of caches, some along the river Thames. I am looking for someone to tack over alll of them. We have 17 in total Anyone who would like to adopt these please let use know I don't really wish to archive them. Thanks Daz&Lisa Quote Link to comment

+Delta68
Unless the caches are either historically significant or placed in a location where new replacements would no longer be allowed, I'd suggest archiving instead. That way all your hard work setting/owning them stays with your profile and secondly, they will be remembered as you intended. On many occasions I have seen caches adopted over to new owners only for them to be changed beyond all recognition (or at least changed in a way the original owner or finders didn't approve of) M Quote Link to comment

Daz&Lisa
Thanks for the reply, it looks like archiving is the way to go. Quote Link to comment
+thehoomer
We have adopted a few very old caches and have ensured that the listing, logbook and container have been left in thier original condition and in situ wherever possible. One of the caches we adopted, had damage to the original container (a 'Safeway' margarine tub) so we placed the whole thing inside a bigger new one. These little things may seem insignificant to some but I agree, maintaining authenticity is important if you are adopting an historical or popular cache. We would most certainly try to contact the original owner/s if we could no longer care for them and failing that, would offer them to a wider audience. I hope that Daz & Lisa enjoy thier new location and go on to set some more caches. Quote Link to comment
+Delta68
...We would most certainly try to contact the original owner/s if we could no longer care for them and failing that, would offer them to a wider audience. Drifting off topic a bit now, but a 2002 cache within 10 miles or so of us was one of the last ones to be allowed to be 'forcefully adopted' in 2007 as the original owners had given up. The cache lasted until 2011 but was eventually archived by the reviewer due to neglect. A real pity because many cachers would have loved to have adopted it if they had been given the chance. Although that's nothing compared to the fallout when Germany's first cache was archived by an adopter... M Quote Link to comment
