+msrubble
Is there a way to search by what is stamped on a mark? Yes. Benchmark hunting Advanced Search. Check the radio button for By designation, enter the stamping, and hit the Find Benchmarks button. For example, you could search for R 1079, and voila! Edited to add: Or at NGS, use the button for DATASHEETS and then search by Station Name. You have to choose a state or U.S. territory. Edited August 21, 2015 by msrubble Quote Link to comment
foxtrot_xray
Note that the DESIGNATION of the station is NOT ALWAYS what is stamped on it, however. Quote Link to comment
+dukeofurl01
I did a reply, I don't know why it didn't show up. Well, it was just two that I saw a picture of somewhere, they were NGS, not USGS. I tried by designation, but it didn't find anything. One was a gravity mark, one was a regular mark. I don't know the state they were.from. Edited August 23, 2015 by DukeOfURL01 Quote Link to comment
