+harvchick
So, I've been reading through some questions, but none of them answer my question 100%. Basically, are the App and website 2 different entities? Meaning, if I pay for premium here on the website does it upgrade anything on the app. For instance WW has a free app, but if you're a member on their website there is additional functionality on the app than if you're not a member on the website. This is so much easier in my head to convey. Quote Link to comment

It has nothing to do with any of the apps. There are 2 GS apps. One is free, the other costs about $10.00. The paid app is a one-time cost, providing you don't change platforms. +harvchick
Thank you for the information. I appreciate you taking the time to explain it yet again. Quote Link to comment
+baloo&bd
Slight correction, there are dozens of apps, some free, some with a charge attached. Whether or not they work with premium features is how your GC account is set up. Premium is attached to your ID, not the app. Pretty much lik the site you cited in the OP. Whenever the official Groundspeak apps are explained, it seems odd how the comparisons always leave Windows phone out, especially since statements by Lackeys show that the other two apps (android and iOS) might be similar in the future. Instead of two apps, one free, the other a one-time payment of ten bucks, the Windows app is one app, with extras only unlocked with a yearly premium membership. There will be one app for each platform, and any extra functionality is unlocked with premium membership. But they aren't there yet. Quote Link to comment

+dharma cache
I have the free app on my phone and I had a free membership for geocaching.com. I upgraded to the premium membership and my app on my phone was also upgraded. I paid the 9.99 for only 3 months since I don't usually cache in the winter months. Quote Link to comment

Yep, as long as you remain a premium member, you'll keep those unlocked extra features. Quote Link to comment
