Caches along the trans-canada

Any stop at Medicine Hat (about 2.5-3 hours from Calgary.)

GC55ABY. Cool container, and bring some water. And the CO is a great guy

GC3MDFC. Easy stop, and seems to be quite popular. Same great CO as the other cache.

Honestly almost any cache in Medicine Hat will be worth the effort. We have everything from easy caches, to several powertrails including miultiple geo-art (with some easy puzzles), that can be done in 2-3 hours each. If you tell me how long you'll stopping in for, I can recommend some caches off the highway.

Or if you want to spend the night in a hotel, you could do some caching and end up with a free coin. PM me for info on that, or if you just want to meet for coffee and a few caches. We also have some coins from the group the put up the powertrails (PowerSaw) and some Medicine Hat geocoins if you want buy a souvenir. (I believe from $7 for the local coin, and up to $20 for the PowerSaw coin depending on which design)

When we drove to Manitoba, there was nowhere near the number of caches to choose from as there are now.

There are a couple of must-stop locations:

Thunder Bay

http://coord.info/GCRXJJ

There's a bunch now at Kakabeka Falls, including 2 Earthcaches.

If we were to do it again, I would make sure to stop at any cache with the word "falls" in it.

This one sounds like it's in an interesting location:

Raleigh Falls Cache

http://coord.info/GCM4NY

There's tons of caches in White River, which is of interest if you are a Pooh fan

Terrace Bay is a place where we got off the road, and headed toward the water. Well worth a bit of a detour.

This is one of the caches that I would search for now:

300 Metres from the End of The Road

http://coord.info/GC417AA

A couple of others that will make nice rest stops. May as well get the gps and the camera out.

Time Zone change...good time to adjust your clocks and watches...

In a couple of days I'm going to be driving from Toronto to Calgary. It would be nice to cache along the trans-Canada highway. Does anyone have suggestions for some good finds along this route? Thanks.

Thank you for that information. We may just be staying in Medicine Hat for a night but if not, we will certainly stop and check out the caches you have mentioned. Right now I'm desperately trying to find some travel bugs in Ontario that I can move across the country for people. Thanks again for your suggestions and quick reply.

Make a bookmark list of the ones you choose, and then you can run a pq from that.

Take your time driving along the North Shore, stop at any lookouts. Spectacular scenery.

Don't forget to grab some caches in Manitoba!

Have fun, and have a great, safe trip.
