+Hawardenleaders
Can anyone tell me if they are having problems with panning with the joystick? When I try to pan from the cache I have found to the next one the movement of the orange circle with the joy stick is intermittent sometimes it won't move at all. Also can pictures be downloaded to the GPS Quote Link to comment
+spooky_luke
Hi Hawardenleaders I've been an A10 user for a number of years now and not had the problems that you have described. The orange circle should track smoothly as you move the centre joystick in Map Mode. By checking the box in the settings options in Satsync, you can ask it to fetch and download Spoiler pictures for caches when you import your PQ/GPX file, although it will obviously take a lot longer, depending on the number of caches that it has to process. As the A12 is the newer unit, it may be that it still has some bugs, so if you haven't reported them to Satmap directly, it might be worth doing so. I've always found them to be very helpful. It is also worth checking that you have the most up to date version of Satsync and that you are running the most up to date firmware on your A12. I can see that a Satsync issue with downloading Spoiler pictures from GC.com was resolved back in Version 1.520, but that was a long time ago now. You can check the version history yourself here https://satmap.com/satsync-version-history Good luck, Luke Quote Link to comment

I have found out that I have ANOTHER faulty unit and that is why the joystick not working. Cotswold shop brilliant and have changed it for me as Satmap ignore my emails. My next problem is I have downloaded the caches to my internal memory as the SD card is nearly full with sample maps that come with the unit, but I can't see them in the internal memory and they are not showing on the map either, they are showing when I plug in satsync, do you have a solution for me please. Many thanks Denny Quote Link to comment
+spooky_luke
Hi Denny Sorry to hear that you had a faulty unit, although at least that explains one of your problems. How are you sending the caches to your Satmap internal memory? Are you trying to do it using Satsync or as if the Satmap is a Mass Storage Device? Transfer of caches is only possible using Satsync. Luke Hi Luke I am transferring them with Satsync. I didn't have any problems with my Active 10 they used to just transfer.fiddling around with it I have found that I can do it when they are on the computer screen in Satsync and I delete one they go through, which to my mind is very weird. It doesn't matter if it is 20 or 50 that I am downloading just by deleting one they transfer!!!!! Regards Denny Quote Link to comment
+spooky_luke
Hi Denny The random nature of the problem sounds like it could be linked to a bug, so may be worth contacting Satmap directly for a solution. In the meantime, when you delete 1 cache and all the others transfer, does it matter which cache in the set you delete? Could it be that one cache is causing a problem with the transfer of all the others due to size or something else? I know that it shouldn't, but it might be. A number of years ago, I spotted and reported a problem to the Satsync software engineers as I noticed that it was ignoring caches (and not sending them to the device) if they had improperly formed html in their description. It was all fixed in the end though. Good luck, Luke Quote Link to comment

I have just sent an email to Satmap but I am not holding my breath to them answering me as they do ignore my emails!! But as my daughter-in-law has just purchased from them for my birthday present the GB 1.25 map I hope they will. Best wishes Denny Quote Link to comment
+Cappercaille
Whatever you do. Do not save geocaches to the SD card. Save to internal memory using satsync. If you use the map card it can take ages to load information if at all. Quote Link to comment

Luke That cannot happen. A satmap unit cannot be recognised as a Mass storage Device. Or am I missing something. Don't think so;-))) Chris Edited September 13, 2015 by C R-F Quote Link to comment
