mumu25
Thinking ahead to this summer, are there any d5 or t5 geocaches which could safely be attempted by cachers aged 65 and over like myself? Quote Link to comment
+narcissa
Not sure where you live, but around here there a lot of T5 caches that you can get to with a boat. Quote Link to comment

If you know someone who is a premium member, they can help you view the listings and there is a way to log them without purchasing premium membership. You could also purchase a 3 month premium subscription for just $10 or go ahead and get the full year for $30. Quote Link to comment
RuideAlmeida
Try this D5 caches close to yours... Quote Link to comment
+niraD
My experience has been that T5 caches are often easier to access than T4.5 caches, assuming you have the appropriate equipment. As narcissa indicated, a boat-required cache is probably a safe bet. A UV-required cache might be another possibility. Quote Link to comment
+Dame Deco
You might look for a D5 challenge-- Quote Link to comment

knowschad
Judging by the title of the thread (Young at Heart), I'm guessing the OP isn't looking for an "easy" 5/5 like a boat cache or D5 puzzle, but something to push the physical boundaries a bit, am I right, mumu25? Quote Link to comment

I like a challenge but worried my old bones might not survive caving, rock climbing or scuba diving! Thanks for your input Being over 65, I'll throw in 'health conditions'. Have any of my 5* terrain actually been 5*? Mope. Drive 240 miles to many locations? Nope. Climb 250' up a trail? Nope. Hike or bike 8 miles along a trail, then climb on a bridge? Nope. (Googled most of the answers, and hiked a half mile...) Nope. Find a moving cache completely at random? Nope. Hike out to an island when the water's low. Never even got my boots wet. Nope Walk ten miles between 20 or so way points? Nope. Could drive or take the subway or a taxi. Ah! Okay! This one works! Hike ten miles with 4000' of climb over three days! Yup. That's a 5*! Though it could be cone with a two mile hike with 1000 feet of drop, and climb. Guess that one would qualify. A dozen 5* Difficulty. Yeah. Some of them were 5*. But not too many. (Guess I don't solve too many of them...) 5* difficulty for an event because you have to take the day off from work? Really? Nope. I don't kayak. Oh, well. Just go out and have fun. Thanks for your input Strange question but do you have any 4X4 caches and have someone with a vehicle that can drive it? Some COs may list there tree hides 5s even if you can reach them with a long pole. Too bad you're not here. Someone he listed their cave cache a 5/5. Yet it was totally easy and the cave wasn't even that deep. I would only think it a 5/5 if you were overweight or were a little claustrophobic. Quote Link to comment

Thanks for the reply, always have fun when out caching, don't normally consider the 5 rated caches but received geocaching.com email announcing next souvenir challenge and that includes completion of a 5 as part of the challenge, reading the above I will check out some of these as your comments seem to suggest they are not so daunting after all.
