+ColwynMagpie
Next weekend is the 15th anniversary of geocaching. On May 2, 2000, GPS signals were descrambled, increasing the accuracy of GPS devices worldwide by ten times. The following day, what would become known as the first geocache was hidden. How will you mark the occasion? Quote Link to comment
+ArtieD
I will be spending the 15th Anniversary of geocaching at an event at the oldest cache on Earth...MINGO! (GCQRXE) MINGO. Happy 15th Birthday to Geocaching! Quote Link to comment
+lamoracke
My excitement caching wise is earlier in the week, nothing planned this weekend caching wise minus at least getting 1 or 2 somewhere. Quote Link to comment
+Ambrosia
Yeah. My 13th caching anniversary is in two days. I really have to plan that out. I usually go for a nice walk or hike and find a cache or two. Some of the time during the anniversary of caching, we're at Rosario Beach/Deception Pass State Park in Washington. Our church has an annual retreat there. So, I'm hoping to do a newer EC, RockTalk. The last time I found a cache in that spot was in 2003. It will be a great bit of nostalgia, as well as a beautiful place to go geocaching. Quote Link to comment
+Gill & Tony
We are having a romantic week away, on a tropical island with just one cache. Which will be found on the 2nd. On the 3rd we are spending the entire day travelling home. Quote Link to comment
+K13
Hope to be able to make it to an event Saturday evening. Providing life doesn't interfere. Quote Link to comment
+Ambrosia
Well, bummer. I didn't get to go caching today on my anniversary. Just not feeling well enough to go out and about today. Quote Link to comment
vagabond
Leaving 0dark30 Sunday to finish the Heart of The Mojave cache run, Monday out to the Hauser geode fields, and if it gets too hot out there just might go to the river and look for some carp to shoot with my bow, and a little more caching inbetween. +cerberus1
Saturday starts turkey season here ('til noon), then find at least a couple caches nearby so my other 2/3rds has her souvenir (she's at work), then hopefully get most of a french drain for downspouts finished. Sunday is fly-fishing for early-morning trout on the brodhead, then maybe climb a tree for a 3/3. Quote Link to comment
+Blue_Ranger
Anniversary event tomorrow, then caching around the town that it's in. Sunday, working on our campsite to get it ready to use in (hopefully) a couple weeks. Quote Link to comment
+KatnissRue
Well, the second I'm going to prom with my muggle friend and then on Sunday we're driving out to attend the Mingo event. Quote Link to comment
+Shop99er
I will either be working on TTUMS' new studio, or cutting firewood. Quote Link to comment
+tomfuller & Quill
Driving today (Saturday) from Central Oregon to Coos Bay for an event. We get to see some tall ships in mock battle in the bay. Spending the night and then going to an event in Springfield Sunday and then home. I Intend to find a couple caches on the way to the coast. Quote Link to comment
+captnemo
Went to town and found 5 caches which isn't all that bad as there aren't that many left in town for us to find. Wanted to do a new series near home but weather (wind & heat 90+) and health made us change our plans. Had a good day with no DNF's. Quote Link to comment
Pup Patrol
There was no way I was going to reply until the deed was done. 02 May 2015: found 3 caches. got a souvenir. read the "mission" on the blog, and will try to plan that out. The caches we found today were all in "unusual" containers. One had its camo gone, so the joke fell kinda flat. Another one was something that isn't something that one would expect to see growing in Ontario, Canada. And the third was so creepy that I got the hubby to retrieve the cache. I wouldn't touch it. He had to hand me the container with the log book. Weather couldn't have been better. Sunny, warm, no biting insects, dry trails...perfect. B. Edited May 3, 2015 by Pup Patrol Quote Link to comment

cezanne
Well, bummer. I didn't get to go caching today on my anniversary. Just not feeling well enough to go out and about today. I'm very sorry to read that. The 15th year anniversary means nothing to me (my personal 13-th year anniversary will take place in September but I do not have special plans for that). Nevertheless I went for a nice hike (motivated by a cache I still have to log) with a friend on May 2. Quote Link to comment
+ArtieD
I did this... Monument Rocks (GC21VQQ) The Kansas Badlands and Castle Rock (GC1X3AV) Mingo (GC30) Quote Link to comment
+PlantAKiss
Wow...nice Arthur & Trillian! That looks awesome! I wanted to go after the third in a series down a trail to celebrate the Anniversary. I had gotten the other two on a day when it was raining and when I got to the creek, there was no way to cross without getting wet(ter) so I decided what better day to go back than a beautiful Anniversary Saturday. I had a great time! I was escorted down the trail by a cloud of dragonflies. There were ferns and mosses along the way. And inch worms floating by on their silk parachutes. The creek was a little challenge but I bushwhacked to a place where I could cross and not get too wet. And best of all, the cache was located at a WETLAND! A DESIGNATED wetland no less! (So good to see!). I found the cache and then went exploring! I was having a blast. The only negative was I did come across a scary "camp"--campfire, soggy clothes strewn about, debris. That made me a little nervous because I was alone in a rather isolated location. So I headed back and made it back to by car without issues other than other wet foot. I found 2 more small mall-parking-lot caches one of which was located next to a open field full of wildflowers so I had a "field day" (haha) taking flower photos. So I had great fun in celebrating the 15th Anniversary and got home in time to see American Pharoah win the derby!! Yesterday I went out and found one "meh" cache but that gave me finds for both days. I was happy! Quote Link to comment

+KatnissRue
Well, I found Mingo, grabbed a few trackables, and managed to nab six other finds. I had a lot of fun meeting fellow Geocachers and attending the Mingo event. You can see a video of my excursion here: Quote Link to comment
+JL_HSTRE
I drove 3 hours so I could spend 6 hours and 20 miles biking and caching in a WMA that had been on my To Do list for years. Quote Link to comment
