Lat34North
I use the NPS List of structures when I do "NRHP Historic Districts - Contributing Buildings". The url I have is: http://www.hscl.cr.nps.gov/insidenps/summary.asp This url has been down for about a month. Does anyone know if the site has change? Have a contact that can fix the site? Or an E-mail address of who to contact about the site?? There is a contact at http://www.nps.gov/index.htm, guess I can try that one unless someone has a better link. Thanks Lat34North Byron Quote Link to comment
BruceS
I just tried your link and it worked fine for me. I'm using chrome as my browser. Quote Link to comment
Lat34North
When I tried with Chrome, I got: (Using) http://www.hscl.cr.nps.gov/insidenps/summary.asp'>http://www.hscl.cr.nps.gov/insidenps/summary.asp The requested URL /insidenps/summary.asp was not found on this server. ________________________________________ Apache/2.2.15 (Red Hat) Server at www.hscl.cr.nps.gov Port 80 Even tried a different PC. Ok, I'll try something radical, re-boot my gateway. Interestingly: http://www.hscl.cr.nps.gov/ Returns a blank page. Edited April 22, 2015 by Lat34North Quote Link to comment
BruceS
Still working for me. Your second link brought me to login screen. Try doing a search on your first link using Google and then pull up the cached copy and see if that works. Seems like it might be some type of DNS issue. Quote Link to comment
Lat34North
Well, this is really frustration. I did get it to work in Chrome, after rebooting my gateway, which is a pain. Still does not work in IE. OK, after playing with this for a while, it appears to be a routing problem. It works in IE if I leave the www off. Normally, it does not matter if you say http://hscl.cr.nps.gov/insidenps/summary.asp or http://www.hscl.cr.nps.gov/insidenps/summary.asp But for some strange reason it appears to all of a sudden matter. I checked out some of my older waymarks Check out: Waymark Code: WMN132 scroll to bottom: Optional link to narrative or database: [Web Link] click on web link. The link does not work. If I edit the url and delete the www, then hit enter, it works. This works: http://hscl.cr.nps.gov/insidenps/report.asp?STATE=&PARK=&STRUCTURE=Battery%20D,%201st%20Michigan%20Artillery%20Marker&SORT=&RECORDNO=2 Edited April 22, 2015 by Lat34North Quote Link to comment
BruceS
Both ways work for me. At least you have regained access to the site. Quote Link to comment
iconions
Just to add salt (or is that an onion) to the wound, the site is working just fine for me, also... Quote Link to comment
Lat34North
Just to add salt (or is that an onion) to the wound, the site is working just fine for me, also... stranger and stranger, wasn't that the title of a book?? (Actually it was Stranger in a Strange Land) Maybe I'll try accessing it from a hot spot somewhere, no idea why the www does not work for me. One question, after you get to the site, does the www still appear in your url?? Edited April 23, 2015 by Lat34North Quote Link to comment
MountainWoods
I just tried it on IE11 on Windows 7 and it worked with either the www. or not. When I used the former, the www did stay in the URL in the address bar. Quote Link to comment
MountainWoods
Oddity: Either way I get one of those narrow pop-up bars at the bottom of the IE page stating that the site wants to run a Microsoft HTML Help application. Don't know why it would want to do that. But that doesn't seem to matter whether I use www or not. Both work, and both show that odd request. Quote Link to comment

MountainWoods
If you call his phone, it will reboot. Maybe even a couple of times. Quote Link to comment
