Rexgeorge Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 I am a new user of Garmin Dakota 20. I want to display the disrtance to a waypoint as I am travelling to it . Can I do that? Thanks Quote
+Timpat Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 If the Dakota is similar to other Garmin units I would think go in the menu for Map Setup and choose the data fields for "2 small" for example. Then you can change what data you'd like for the fields, "distance to next" is one for example. Quote
gpsblake Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 (edited) yes, you can do that on the map screen, compass screen, trip odometer screen, etc, any screen that has a data field. Just enter one, two or four data fields, change one of them to DIST to DESTINATION. What I do is use the compass screen and set up just 1 data field which gives you a huge number with the arrow. +hermandm Posted August 15, 2020 Posted August 15, 2020 Thanks a lot for your explanation. A few weeks ago, my GPS started acting weird. I had no other option but a factory reset. After that I had my Dakota back, but the Distance field was gone. I didn't know exactly how to put it back on the screen. Now it is back. Let's get out, the hunt is on! Quote
+Mineral2 Posted August 15, 2020 Posted August 15, 2020 In the future, your activity profiles are saved in a profiles folder on the device. You can copy them to your computer and put them back after a factory reset to restore your previous settings. Quote
