Email without message

I own some 25 caches, and regularly answer questions about them via email.

 

Today, I got an email :

 

Geocaching: BigFurryMonster, you have a new message from [cacher]!

 

But not the actual message.

A click revealed a message posted at gc.com.

 

What is the advantage of not putting the actual message inside the email? Now I need to bother with going to gc.com which on a mobile device isn't very pretty.

Perhaps the reasoning is fully explained there. Much hoopla about the "changes".

That's one of the features of the new messaging system. It is easier for the app users to send messages from the field. There seems to be little regard for you as a cache owner have to take the extra steps to read the message.

I agree.

To me, it seems as if it was designed by someone who wouldn't understand if they were told, that most of us aren't glued to their site 24/7.
