Dakota 20 maximum number of Geocaches exceeded

Can anyone help me, it seems I have exceeded the 2000 Geocaches in my Dakota 20,(probably by my inapt attempts to download PQs), and I can't get rid of them! All it shows on screen is 10 available Geocaches (ones I downloaded singularly) , and when I try to add Geocaches one at at time they don't load, Thanks in advance, Rainbow Spirit.

By the way I am pretty computer illiterate so dumb it WAY down :) PS, when I turn on the GPS it comes up with a green download bar, before it shows the full screen.

...dumb it WAY down :)...

OK... about as simple as it gets, for PC:

Dakota (turned off), joined to computer via USB cord >

Turn on Dakota and allow it to boot up. When it does that, computer should recognize it with a tone (beep?) >

Click on the START menu icon, lower-left of computer screen >

From that menu, select COMPUTER. A window displaying ALL drives should open, one of which should be GARMIN or GARMIN DAKOTA >

Click open the GARMIN drive >

Within that window, locate a file folder named GPX >

Open that folder and delete all those files from within >

You *should* then right-click while hovering cursor over the GARMIN drive and select Eject, the computer will advise it is safe to remove the equipment.

Done. Turn off the unit and unplug it from the computer.

Directions for using a Mac are similar with one notable exception: You MUST empty the trash can or recycle bin BEFORE turning off or unplugging the Dakota. If you do not empty the trash, those files will remain on the unit. This is not necessary if you are using a PC.
