+AJoker
I recently acquired a Garmin 62s. I was able to upload caches from Geocaching.com but I am not able to delete them when I am through with them. I went to the Garmin 62s user manual online but geocaching information is skimpy at best. Any help would be appreciated. Quote Link to comment
+geodarts
You have to delete them by connecting the gpsr to a computer (or any other device that you plug either the unit or the sd card into) and deleting the GPX file (in the garmin/GPX folder) that contains the caches. If you loaded a group of caches into the unit as a single GPX file, you cannot pick and choose the caches - you have to delete them all and load a new file that does not contain the caches you want to remove. If you have a Mac, be sure to empty the recycle bin after they are deleted. Quote Link to comment
+BikeBill
Basecamp or GSAK are your friends with cache management. Quote Link to comment
+BAMBOOZLE
Basecamp or GSAK are your friends with cache management. Amen......I'd need to take a cab to find basecamp but I have used GSAK for years. Most always, though, I just delete the GPX files on the unit and load another GPX file. I like GSAK because I can combine several databases into one large GPX file to load to the unit.....I know it will read multiple GPX files but somehow I feel reliability may be improved by it just reading one. +AJoker
Thanks. I tried it and it worked. I wish I could combine the features of the 60 and the 62. I would have a perfect GPS for what I like to do. Quote Link to comment

If I could find an easy way to go paperless, I would go back to the 60 in a second. Quote Link to comment
+BikeBill
Aside from deleting caches on the unit, what is it you want to go back to on the 60CSx? I used one for years before going to an Oregon 600 and then a GPSMAP 64s (works like a 62s) and aside from the minor learning curve of managing caches, I was fine with the switch. The newer 62's and 64's are faster, have the paperless caching capabilities and can hold many more caches. Now I think the Oregon 600 is a bit harder to learn than any of the 6x's. I agree here.....I have a like new CSx that hasn't been used since we got 62S units....I find them better in every way and esp. prefer the smooth trouble free compass to the quirky one on the CSx.
