Carboniferous Times - Earthcache Event

For the first time, a great EarthCache event will take place in the north of France! We invite you to this geological and unusual event in the heart of the Nord-Pas-De-Calais.

Carboniferous Times is the first major French Earthcache event. An event organized in collaboration with the city of Lewarde, the Historical Mining Center & the Geological Society of North.

The program and event details will be available soon. We are currently working in the timetables and the organization of the visit of the mine as well as many other activities. The main event will take place on Saturday 29th of August but the Meet & Greet will take place on a first welcome event on Friday 28th. Don’t forget to book your accommodation: the hotel capacity of Douai is for about 850 people. In addition, the mining centre offers parking for mobile homes from Friday to Sunday.

 

What is waiting for you:

The exploration of the mine, more than 15 new EarthCaches, cultural activities, lectures by geologists, geological trivial to win some prices and the release of a Geocoin linked to this land and the northern gold: coal.

 

A souvenir of the event will be proposed after your Attended so you could put it in your profile. Get ready for a weekend of coal and much more ;)
