+CanyonWildcat
I just found my first Wherigo cache yesterday. It seemed like a fun concept, so I wanted to look into creating a cartridge. I downloaded the builder and viewed the first two tutorials. Things didn't go well. First problem: When I try to create a new zone and "Create From Address", there is an error looking up the address. I tried a couple of different addresses but that didn't help. I ended up entering coordinates. Second problem: When I try to create a new zone from the map there is an error using the TerraServer Server. Third problem: When I try to open a saved cartridge, there is an error reading the cartridge and it won't open. Since the builder program is seven years old and still a beta, does that mean that geocaching.com has abandoned the idea? Should I give up and stick to traditional caches? Quote Link to comment
Ranger Fox
I'm assuming you downloaded Groundspeak's builder. Create from address This is not available because the API call needs updating. No one has the source code, so no one can update it. Create new zone from map This is another API call that needs updating. Error opening saved cartridge Solution Do yourself a favor and apply this fix while you're at it. Take two solutions and call me in the morning. Quote Link to comment

Take two solutions and call me in the morning. You said "Apply this fix". There were three zip files listed when I followed the link. All three gave me the following error message............ Geo-Magician
[#10173] We could not find the attachment you were attempting to view. I tried the links and can confirm your trouble. The forum software eats files at unpredictable intervals. They might reappear, they might not. Go to our Earwigo Wiki (one of the two alternative, community built builders), it has links that will help you out http://earwigo.net/WWB/wiki/doku.php?id=tips_and_tricks#testing_your_cartridge'>http://earwigo.net/WWB/wiki/doku.php?id=tips_and_tricks#testing_your_cartridge (your files are mentioned under the Warning Headline). If you consider to use one of the community built builders (which in my opinion you should) check these out: http://earwigo.net/WWB/wiki http://www.urwigo.cz/instalace (this is the only link I could find under some time pressure, there might be better links that have more English instructions). Ranger Fox
I guess the forum spits out files at one time, then says it can't find the file at another. The links work for me at the moment, but I hope that's not just because I was the one who uploaded those files. I did make this post to link to the files from elsewhere. Anyway, a community-produced builder application would be a better decision than one that is not being maintained. Quote Link to comment
