I contacted a representative of the ACGA about the "Geocaching in Nova Scotia Parks Passport Program" which is on the map and list. The listing mentions a reward of "geocoins." According to the representative, they no longer have geocoins available for finding the geocaches. However the geocaches themselves still appear to be active.

Thanks! We've updated the list accordingly.

We actually have 4 separate Geotrails in Spartanburg, SC. Three reward you with geocoins:

This was the first series that we put out in conjunction with the Spartanburg Parks and Rec. Takes about a day to complete:

http://spartanburgparks.org/spartanheritage-geocaching/

This one is in the small mill ton of Pacolet. It only takes about half a day:

http://spartanburgparks.org/pacolet-geotrail/

This is the one that you have listed already, also should take about half a day:

http://www.cityofspartanburg.org/parks-and-recreation

The fourth Geotrail is the result of a local Girl Scout project and rewards you with a pathtag:

Also should be adding three more to our area by the end of the year! ;)

I don't see the Louisiana State Parks Geo-Project listed as a geo-tour. I believe it has been in existence since August 2010 but I just completed it in March of this year. It is located at www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC25HV7_Louisiana-office-of-state-parks-geo-project. It requires visits to 40 Louisiana state parks and historic sites. Each site has one cache that contains a number to be placed in either the N or W column of the answer sheet and either added or subtracted to obtain coordinates for the 41st and final cache. It also requires a picture of the geocacher at the entrance of each site to be posted with your log entry. Once the requirements are met you email in your results and receive a trackable geocoin. I am only the 13th person to complete the tour so there are still plenty of the very attractive coins left. Plan you visit to end in the area of Baton Rouge

Hey, just wanted to give a few updates on the coin trails listed in South Carolina.

The Spartanburg COUNTY geotrail has ended, there are no more coins, all the others in the area are still active with coins. Additionally, there are 2 new ones launching in that area: GC60XF1 is the only one posted yet though.

Also, the State Park series is listed as having a geocoin for the reward, and that is incorrect, the reward is a t-shirt.

The VisitUtah LifeElevated GeoTour is coming along nicely. We will eventually have 29 patches to give out, one for each county in Utah. If you earn 10 patches you can get a geocoin (Sadly not available until summer 2016). And when the tour is finished we will be giving jackets to those ambitious enough to earn all the 29 county patches.

Silent Whistles has two historical railroad geocache reward trails in Michigan, taking seekers to places once (but no longer) served by the railroad.

Abandoned Railroads of Newaygo County, published 8/28/2014. This trail was done with the Newaygo County Museum and Heritage Center, in Newaygo, Michigan. More than half the pathtags are still available. There are 35 caches on this trail. 28 finds required for a prize.

tRails Along the Au Sable, published 6/4/2016. This trail was done with the AuSable - Oscoda Historical Society and Museum (Oscoda, MI), and the Steiner Museum (Fairview, MI). Prize is a pathtag. There are 57 caches on this trail. 46 finds required for a prize.

Rock Chalk,

We need to do a couple edits to the file. The Spartanburg County Heritage Geotrail in Spartanburg, SC has been a dead trail for well over a year, with 250 coins given out. All active geocaches related to the trail have long-ago been edited or archived. We still have folks coming through that insist on receiving a coin (even logging archived caches that no longer exist!)

Also, we need to remove the Hub City Spartanburg geotrail for the same reasons. Thanks to all for participating in them!

In their place, we have the City of Spartanburg Hub Love Geotrail. The reward is a trackable geocoin. Info can be found here:

http://spartanburgparks.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/Hub-Love-Trail-Brochure.pdf

Also, we will be having a new county parks trail in late Spring of 2017.

Hi Honeyhick,

I think you may be viewing an old version of the file. (I didn't even know it existed until googling it just now.) The current version, which is the one we have linked in the pinned in this forum, is here.

In Spartanburg, the current version only includes the Hub Love Trail and Hitting The Books trail. Is the Hitting The Books one still active?

There's a very special one that launched March 11 2017: https://www.facebook.com/SCRCGeoTrail/?fref=nf

And before everyone starts hyperventilating, they can contact SavannahCoastalEducation (at) fws . gov to ask about USFWS permissions and how it all worked out. (Shameless plug, I work for the USFWS, and got it up and running within the very extensive process within the USFWS to get this rolling)

One more for Spartanburg, SC needs to be added. (I should have added it at the launch...sorry)

Spartanburg County Parks:

https://www.geocaching.com/bookmarks/view.aspx?guid=866667f6-6f60-440f-a876-a6143eb0cc0d

And the Passport:

http://spartanburgparks.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Spartanburg-County-Parks-Geotrail-Worksheet.pdf

That makes SIX active trails in our county!

And now, just for a little while, we are taking a break!

There is a new GeoTour in northern France since mid-june. 80 caches in total, in 15 of these there is a code. If you find all 15 or 12 + visit all 5 Tourist information points, you get a reward (a non-trackable wooden coin you can discover). In each of the Information points you also get another (larger) wooden coin. One of these caches is this one: GC7PQZ0. More details in the official GeoTour-list.
