Will we have another run/walk as part of the event? I'm guessing you are asking about regional events? B. Quote
Loony Londo Posted December 29, 2014 Author Posted December 29, 2014 So that is Sunday 11th October 2015 and Sunday 9th October 2016 This year the geological society wanted us to organise runs/walks so I was just wondering what they will want in 2015. Quote
GeoawareGSA1 Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Thanks for checking. GSA has made no decision yet regarding the run/walk option. But it is something under consideration. We will post on Facebook and in the forums when we have a plan, but it probably won't be for a few more months. Matt Dawson, GSA Quote
Loony Londo Posted January 10, 2015 Author Posted January 10, 2015 Will events for International Earthcache be included in World Space Week as they were in 2014? Quote
Loony Londo Posted January 10, 2015 Author Posted January 10, 2015 I went to the World Space Week Website and registered an event for International EarthcacheDay. I will complete the details when we know what GSA wants for an event, Quote
GeoawareGSA1 Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 I just updated the web-page for EarthCache Day: http://community.geosociety.org/earthcache/events/earthcacheday --Matt Dawson, GSA Quote
Loony Londo Posted July 2, 2015 Author Posted July 2, 2015 I have planed a geological walk round the outside of the British Library in Central London,England and will publish an event cache once we are in three months of International Earthcache Day but I was wondering whether there will be a souvenir and what we have to do to earnt it? +Memfis Mafia Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 I'm putting together an EarthCache event for Northern Colorado. I have not been able to find expectations for the events anywhere? Have they been posted somewhere? Quote

Touchstone Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 I just had my International EarthCache Day 2015 event approved - GC63Y4R Very nice. Looks like a pretty full agenda for an hour meet up Best of luck with your Event! Quote
egroeg Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Thanks. I'm pretty sure I can cover all that in an hour, because I still have the materials I used for my 2013 and 2014 events, and that's about how long it took before. Quote

Dame Deco Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 I think it's a shame that they make the souvenir only available one day, and a Sunday at that. In many areas, they are few and far between, or folks have everything nearby. Why not let folks find one over at least the weekend, and perhaps even over the course of a week. This isn't like International GC day or February 29 where any kind of cache counts. Quote

niraD Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 I see it just like any other event. We know ahead of time and can make plans to take part or not. Yeah, that's how I see it. My newly published EarthCache received a couple dozen logs on Sunday, and a number of them expressed thanks for the opportunity to earn the Souvenir. But I wasn't able to get the Souvenir myself. Not because it was Sunday, or because it was a Canadian holiday, just because of they way my schedule worked out that day. So it goes. Quote
