Communication plug-ins

I have been trying to download cache locations to my Garmin GPS, but each time I get a pop-up screen that is telling me to either install the Garmin communication plug-in or asking me if I have the newest version. If I choose either one of these options the Garmin website states that I have the newest version already installed and it is detected. Has anybody had or heard of this problem before? I would really appreciate the help getting this solved.

Probably neither the Garmin nor your plug-in is the problem.

 

Using a PC and Internet Explorer?

If so, you probably need to set/change the "Compatibility Mode". Goggle search it.

I suggest that, because that same question has been asked many, many times.

 

Could give you more, but you really should give up more info; Garmin model, PC or Mac, which browser you use, etc.... makes for less guessing.

Chrome blocks the plug in if you happen to be using it.

The same thing was happening to me with chrome. When it does the pop up look in the top right corner for an "X" or something. I clicked it and it said the app was blocked and did I want to un block or similar. Told it to run and all was good after that.

Also, try running a virus scan on your computer. There was a virus on my computer that prevents people from downloading stuff on my computer
