V1rgie
If you lost your GPS on 8th November, please reply to this post letting me know where you lost it and the make and model, and I will make arrangements to return it. Quote Link to comment
+Beach_hut
We've not lost one, but could you give a vague idea of where you found it? (Which corner of the country?) There are lots of local groups that are more active than this forum, might be an idea to share in there? Edited November 9, 2014 by Beach_hut Quote Link to comment
+TheHarleyRebel
Try posting it on the group local to that area. Most geocachers have never even visited the forums. Quote Link to comment
V1rgie
Thanks will try that- posted on this forum as had a lanyard saying "geocaching" on the GPS. Lost in North of Scotland. Quote Link to comment
+MartyBartfast
lots of :) for trying so hard to help. If you know the way around the GPS you could probably find which caches the owner recently found, and by looking at the logs on those cache pages you may be able to narrow it down to a few individuals. FYI caches are identified by a code begining GC, so something like GC123ABC , you can then view that cache by going to http://coord.info/GC123ABC and look at the recent logs. (not mine, I'm ~700 miles away !) Quote Link to comment
+MartyBartfast
If you do Facebook you might have more success posting in these two groups: https://www.facebook.com/groups/175180362617755/ & https://www.facebook.com/groups/159161067474047/ Quote Link to comment
+speakers-corner
Have you turned the GPS on? There may be a start screen with a name, address or tel-no. on it. Quote Link to comment
V1rgie
Unfortunately no geocaches and GPS is set up for recreational use so maybe geocaching lanyard was a red herring. No name and address either so drawn a blank. Thanks all for your help. Planning on giving the gps to local mountain rescue. Hopefully they will find the owner but if not it will go to a good home ?? +Original A1
Perhaps you could give slightly more specific information as to where you found it. For instance, I don't do Facebook, but I might have a better idea of who might be caching in an area of Northern Scotland than someone say living down in the South East. Not definitely, but possibly, given I live in what they call Southern Scotland. Anyone who wishes to claim it would still need to identify which type, colour, etc., it is. Quote Link to comment
