SpaceMichigan
I hid a geocache last night next to the bole of a tree, and piled a few sticks on it. I was worried that a muggle could get to it so this morning, I went out to put more sticks on the cache or put tree bark on it, but I couldn't find the tree I hid it. It's like the tree just disappeared. I've searched twice today for the tree. Not only that, but the coordinates glitched I guess, because it led me around 150 or so from where I hid the cache. What should I do? before the review shows up...help me...fast! Quote Link to comment
+K13
Disable your listing, then go find your tree and the cache. Then verify the coordinates. Quote Link to comment
+wmpastor
Maybe bring a couple of friends along to help find the cache. Beta testing, you might say. Just don't let them claim FTF! Quote Link to comment
SpaceMichigan
How do I disable the listing? Quote Link to comment
nonaeroterraqueous
How do I disable the listing? A box near the upper right has "Admin Tools." Look for "Disable." Edited October 18, 2014 by nonaeroterraqueous Quote Link to comment

+K13
That's why you should disable it, asap, so it doesn't get published before you can make sure it's still there. Quote Link to comment

+Manville Possum
What phone app were you using for placement? Really. This seems to be a common problem with poor coordinates, but the hider can't seem to even find the general location? Come on, is this for real?! Quote Link to comment
Pup Patrol
K but i still worry i wont find it or that a muggler took it If the cache has been taken already, that lets you know that your hiding spot is not a very good one. B. Quote Link to comment

SpaceMichigan
As I said, its like the tree disappeared. One day it was there and the next its gone. When i went to the tree it took seconds to find. Now its taking mins/hours to find Quote Link to comment

When i went to the tree it took seconds to find. Now its taking mins/hours to find It really doesn't matter how you hid it, but rather how you find it. Start at a spot you know it was near and methodically check each tree while expanding your search circle. You can even use some flagging tape to mark the trees you already checked. This will ensure your search is not biased by possible inaccuracies in your memory. Good luck. Quote Link to comment

+tozainamboku
A scary Halloween story. Trees that disappear and reappear. Thanks for putting us in the mood for the season. Quote Link to comment
+K13
Found what? Your cache? The tree? The link to disable your listing? Quote Link to comment
+JPreto
Funny story!!!! Mental note: "This is one of the reasons why you always take photos of the cache spot in several angles. Check!" Quote Link to comment
Andronicus
Maybe bring a couple of friends along to help find the cache. Beta testing, you might say. Just don't let them claim FTF! Why not? If they were the first to find it, that kind of makes them FTF. Especialy because the CO doesn't even know where it is. Quote Link to comment
+ras_oscar
I think this is a CO's transparent attempt to claim FTF on their onw cche Quote Link to comment
