+MountainWoods
I only recently ended up in a group that is not intended to create categories; and then a couple of days later I started my first Group (with the intention of maybe making a category), and noticed the checkbox for something like "This Group will not be creating categories". Question I have is: What all things might one use such a group for? Can someone give me a short list of reasons for such a kind of Group? I know that one could send emails to group members. That might be one usage for it. Kind of like a public email group (in Outlook or Thunderbird or whatever). I noticed that an officer (might depend on permissions?) can send emails to either the other officers in the group or to all members of the group. Might come in handy. But for what other things can you use such a sans-category Group? Thanks! (Boy it has been quiet in the Waymarking forums. I hope that means everyone is out there taking photos and getting coordinates...) Edited September 10, 2014 by MountainWoods Quote Link to comment

+lumbricus
The main reason for groups is leading a category. Like you wrote they could also be used for contacting more Waymarkers with less effort. That's it. Quote Link to comment
