How to delete waymark

I wanted to delete a waymark and couldn't find a way. The way I found to unblock the situation was to submit it as a Uncategorized waymark but it still needed to be deleted. Any ideas?

So what is the answer to this question? I have many waymarks that are now out of business and need to be deleted. Does anybody know the answer or how I can get it.

A waymark can only be deleted if it has not been approved, i.e. denied or not yet sent to approval. This is by design, as a real deletion would affect your posting statistics as well as all visits to this waymark.

 

The proper procedure to get rid of these waymarks is to archive them.

 

A well accepted alternative for ones not valid anymore, but still having some merit in documenting the recent past of a location, is to mark the title with a very obvious flag like "{GONE}" and add an edit note about it to the descrption.
