+MGowners
I have a Magellan Explorist 610. When changing batteries I lost the micro sd card with all my GB OS 1:50K mapping - it just popped out and disappeared into vegetation. I have copied my back-up of the card from my computer to a replacement card which now holds all the map files plus files labelled USB trans and Unit.xml. When I put this card into the GPS it can recognise the map files, but there is a cross on top of the map symbol and it is not possible to tick the box to access the mapping. How can I enable the new card and use my backed up files? Please! Magellan support hasn't replied to my query sent more than a week ago. Quote Link to comment
+mikeD
My limited experience using OSGB on a Garmin SD card suggests you will be lucky to recreate a new SD card I have like you done a backup but I tried to copy the files to a new card to no avail It seems that to prevent cloning/copying the file os somehow hard coded to that SD card only I have Garmin OSGB and France topo SD's. They are not locked and can be used in any device that is compatible. The company protects its product by the 'SD locking ' feature it seems Might be the dame on your kit Quote Link to comment
