+JPreto
Looking at another user page I saw something very cool in the Personal Profile page, the count of how many DNFs you made... Look here! Does anyone know how can you activate that box? PS: This is not a fake, I promise! Not disclosing the user for privacy reasons... Quote Link to comment

+JPreto
Thank you very much!!! This is the code and you have to edit and put this inside your profile page. <div class="mxStats" style="position:relative; top:-418px; left:268px;"> <div id="ctl00_ContentBody_ProfilePanel1_Panel_CachesFound" class="statbox"><strong>DNF Pride!</strong> <img src="/images/icons/32/dnf.png" alt="" /> <span class="statcount">755</span></div> </div> Some tweaking of the "top:-418px" must be done according to your profile picture. +Maebius
For me, on IE10, I'm seeing the same thing niraD is, and on firefox it's 'better' but not perfect. Granted ,I'm using a public computer so the versions are a bit old and there's some wonky firewall stuff that blocks many popups and ads and makes some other websites look off. But at least it puts the info there, just not 'pretty' like some browsers and users are seeing. Quote Link to comment

When the Mosaic browser came out I used that until Netscape Navigator became available. I used Netscape up until around version 4 when Firefox came out. I switched to Firefox and used it for many years and eventually Chrome became available. Firefox seemed to be getting more and more bloated and a real memory hog so I switched to Chrome and that's what I mostly use today. I've occasionally used Opera and only use I.E. when I have to (and as a web application developer I often have to check my work with I.E.). BTW, there are a few sites browser emulator sites that will show what a page looks like with almost any browser. Unfortunately most of them are commercial services or severally restricted free versions. Quote Link to comment
+larryc43230
My history of browser preference pretty much runs parallel to yours (starting with Lynx, then Mosaic, then Navigator, then Firefox), except that I never switched to Chrome. I'd grown comfortable with Firefox, so I've stuck with it. When I was working, agency policy was to standardize on Internet Explorer, so I was forced to use it and develop for it. I quickly learned to dislike it, and it's never been my default browser for personal use. Back on topic , I'm still puzzled about niraD's observation. I would be interested to know 1. What browser (and what version) of browser was being used. 2. Whether other HTML in niraD's profile might be causing this anomaly. 3. Whether Greasemonkey or similar scripting might be involved. --Larry Quote Link to comment

+niraD
Where is the profile picture? What browsing environment are you using? It's just a little below the DNF Pride! button, below where my screenshot was cropped. I'm using Firefox 31.0. I'm using NoScript, but I've whitelisted everything except doubleclick.net and Google Analytics on that page. And I'm using Adblock Plus, but it isn't blocking anything on that page. +Gill & Tony
I've written a GSAK macro to count my DNF's, so I don't need to do it manually. However, I get a difference between Firefox and Chrome. Only a small difference, but enough to be annoying. Chrome is about 15px higher than FF. I'd be interested in hearing if anyone can get a browser-independent solution. Quote Link to comment

Well, nobody is saying you have to update it after every DNF. It just depends on what degree of accuracy you feel that you need. You could do it once a month, or once a year. I probably will do it once a month, when I update my Geocaching Profile stats. Quote Link to comment

+J Grouchy
I would have to wonder if it would count: a.) DNF logs (some caches I have multiple DNF logs on) b.) # of caches that I have a DNF log on c.) # of caches that I have not found that I have a DNF log on (eventually resolved) It's this range of options that sort of makes it a tough idea to implement. When you find a cache, you get a +1. You only need to find it once. When you DNF a cache, you can DNF it an infinite number of times. Some might argue that a "Found it" log should cancel out any DNF log you've posted on that cache. Others might say one DNF is all that should count on your DNF stats. I'd almost rather see an attempt-to-find ratio or percentage. Caches you find immediately could be a 1.0. Caches you DNF once, a 0.5. DNF twice and find once, a 0.33...and so on. Caches you only DNF would therefore be a 0.0. Then you could have a stat that uses those percentages on an overall ratio. So someone with 1000 finds might have 900 that they found the first time, 50 that they found the second time, and 50 that they found on the third attempt. (900 x 1.0) + (50 x 0.5) + (50 x 0.333) = 0.942, or a 94.2% success rate on his or her found caches. Maybe there were 100 caches they have attempted but did not find...that would thus include a (100 x 0), giving them a success rate of 0.856, or 85.6%. All that depends, of course, on complete honesty in how a person tracks their own attempts to find a cache, but I think that would be a more telling statistic than just the number of DNF logs they post. Of course, part of me is wondering if I set that math up correctly. Quote Link to comment
