+jimbofish
A battery leaked on my Magellan Meridian. After disassembly and cleanup I find the foil/plastic pad between the buttons and the PCB is ruined. The blue goo got in between the foil and the plastic sheets sandwich and de-laminated it. Magellan doesn't seem to have parts for these. Anyone know of a source for internal parts? Or have a broken Meridian that they'd sell for parts? vagabond
I have one the fell off a moving truck, its in pieces I'll see if I can find it and if the part you need is usable Quote Link to comment
+jimbofish
Thanks. The bottom edge of that pad has two copper contacts that make contact with matching contacts on the PCB. I'm not sure if they are supposed to be attached or floating. Not really sure what the purpose of that pad is for at all. The button contacts go through openings in it. Let me know what you find. vagabond
well I've looked and I guess it's been thrown out when we moved, sorry Quote Link to comment
+jimbofish
OK. Thanks for looking and the offer. Still need to find a solution for this part. Wondering if maybe it's the button contacts and not this pad that are bad from the battery juice. Quote Link to comment
xyzee
Try Bills Electronics in Canada for help. http://billsgps.tripod.com/ Jungle Ghost repairs later models, but they might have some advice. http://www.jungleghost.com/repair_service.shtml Quote Link to comment
