DougDawn Posted June 18, 2014 Share Posted June 18, 2014 Are we allowed to make our own geocoins, purchase tracking numbers and engrave our own geocoins with those purchased numbers? If we don't require a custom icon on the tracking page do we need geocaching.com's permission to make, circulate and track these DIY geocoins? Can't find an answer on the forums. The final design of each geocoin must be approved by Groundspeak prior to production. Designs must be family friendly and may not include modified versions of the geocaching.com logo. 2. Use of the geocaching.com logo is not required. However, if you wish to use the geocaching.com logo, the circle r trademark symbol must appear as part of the logo. 3. All trackable coins must bear the text, Trackable on Geocaching.com" or Track on Geocaching.com ------------------------ Only alternative I'm aware of is using the tracking ID from Travel Bugs, but that puts the cost of each number at $4-$5. Downside to that is that you don't get a 'personal coin' PC tracking ID and icon.
