Geocache type symbols on Garmin Oregon 450 - how to change them

Hello!

I have a problem.

Just today I loaded another .gpx file into my Garmin and I noticed that every mystery cache now is shown with an unopened box icon (kind of a default symbol for any geocache) and NOT with the familiar blue-question-mark.

I haven`t changed anything in my Garmin.

Does anyone know what could be the problem and more importantly - how can I get back that lovely blue-question-mark for unknown caches?

Everywhere I look, people are trying to make their own symbols for caches, but for me the default ones are okay. I just want that symbol back! :)

Thank you in advance!

Moin Antra,

GS changed the content of their GPX files.

Open your GPX files with a text editior and do a "Search and Replace"

Search for: <type>Geocache|Mystery Cache</type> Replace with: <type>Geocache|Unknown Cache</type>

Search for: <Groundspeak:type>Mystery Cache</Groundspeak:type> Replace with: <Groundspeak:type>Unknown Cache</Groundspeak:type>

I replaced everything as you said, but :) It didn`t do what I wanted.

Right now all Mystery caches are shown as Traditional :)

Some changes, but not what I wanted :)

My friend has the same problem, so I was wondering - maybe we are not the only ones and it is really and "inside" problem.

Any other ideas how to get back these blue question marks?

Thanks!
