mw25
I’m aware about the Minnesota DNR banning geocaches in Minnesota state parks, but I was wondering whether or not that includes other DNR lands. The last note that I saw about this on the DNR web site only mentioned caches as being illegal in state parks, but nowhere else. In particular, I would like to hide a cache in one of the DNR’s scientific & natural areas (http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/snas/index.html), but I wasn’t sure if the DNR would allow this. Does anybody know what’s allowed? Quote Link to comment
syd_b_lives_on
They're not allowed in MN SNA's. There was a previous post (don't remember which one) discussing this in detail. If you hide it, they will come. Quote Link to comment
irvingdog
but I don't even think people are allowed on S.N.A. land, much less a cache. Ahhhh......the moist nose of a German Wirehaired Pointer! Quote Link to comment
+kleiner
I had a conversation with the management at Sand Dunes earlier this year. In that forest the SNA is off limits to everyone except on the established trails. (We ride our horses through there a lot, that's why I asked). That SNA has a special allowance for use during the hunting season. So I asked him about "hunting" caches?? He didn't think that was very funny. JK ps. This all happened before the ban on caching in the State Parks was being discused. Quote Link to comment
