How do I get the Wherigo cartridge to work on my phone?

I have an anddroid and I use the "WhereYouGo" app. I finally managed to get the cartridge onto my phone and it opens fine and seems to work properly except for the GPS feature. No matter where I go, the GPS always reads 16 metres. How do I make the gps work? I'm dying to find this cache... please help

Where do you read "16 meters" ? Accuracy or altitude or distance to zone ? Perhaps you have not turned on the gps function of the app. Turn on GPS at the device (your phone) AND (!) in the app under the icon in main menu "Location", the left button. Then start the game and look to the map. You should see your current location and in most cases the first active zone.

Distance to cache. I can see both those things on the map but it never changes when I walk. and the GPS feature is flash at the top to show me that it's on...
