Doctor A
I haven't been on this forum for awhile, life has kept me busy elsewhere, but I'm hoping someone can shed a little light on this. I saw a Purr-fect Geocat coin for sale on ebay and had never seen this one before. I did a little googling to try to see when it was minted, and any info about how many were made, but can't find anything. Anyone know about this coin? Quote Link to comment
nevadanick
One of the coins shown here may be the one you're referring to: purr-fect Seems they/it may have originally been offered by CIGA (Central Illinois Geocaching Assn). Quote Link to comment
Doctor A
Interesting- thanks! Wish they sold them individually because $12 a coin is sure better than the ebay price I saw! Quote Link to comment
nevadanick
Send them an e-mail and ask ... never hurts to ask ... worst they can say is 'no' ... Edited May 27, 2014 by nevadanick Quote Link to comment
JoergWausW
I think those three coins (about 250 of each of the three) were made all at the same time (they have their own icons, file names 1099.gif, 1100.gif and 1101.gif) in early 2007 by this person: http://www.geocaching.com/profile/?guid=5ae7eb55-eee5-4680-b2c7-884bd47ab51d . Just compare the url on the walrus-coin with that person's website, and consider the cacher's name and the "track this cat" part on the other ones. How they ended up in Illinois? I don't know. They seem to be from the Seattle area, based on the FTF entry here: http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=1128453&page=7 Edited May 31, 2014 by JoergWausW Quote Link to comment
