+Masterchef Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Hello, I will go to London with my wife for a short city trip. Wich caches we must do in London, do you know some nice caches please let us know. Kind regards Masterchef Quote
+Simply Paul Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 My personal favourite is the British Library cache, but if you do a UK forum search for "London" you'll see many threads giving suggestions. Have a great trip; it's a wonderful city Quote
+Calypso62 Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 GCK7HH - Royal Observatory Greenwich Cache (http://coord.info/GCK7HH) I reckon this one is a "must do" for all geocachers visiting London. Unfortunately, I arrived 2 minutes after the gates closed for the last entry into the observatory, grrrrrr, so had to be content with my photo being taken at the Prime Meridian outside the fence. I have plans to visit London again at some point in the future and I will definitely be going back. Quote
Blue Square Thing Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Last Delivery - a traditional cache right in the centre of London in a lovely location that, on a nice day, your wife will like as well (I hope). If you like to walk, then I'd recommend starting at Tower Bridge, walking across the bridge and along the South Bank of the river, past the Golden Hinde micro cache and the one on London Bridge, and then past the Globe Theatre and across the Millennium Bridge to St Pauls, ending up at Last Delivery. Lots to see along the river and a bunch of virtual caches, a few trade and some earth caches. I prefer that sort of thing in a city myself and the walk is a good one, particularly on a nice day. There's also a webcam cache out at the Abbey Road crossing that was on the Beatles album cover that you might enjoy if you like that sort of thing. Quote
+MartyBartfast Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Have a look at this list, centred on London, sorted by favourite points, the top ones are all great. Tin Pan Alley has the most favourites in England (I think). http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.aspx?lat=51.513100&lng=-0.114867&sortdir=desc&sort=fav Quote
+Beach_hut Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 My two favourites have already been covered, and the other two are on the to-do list. Quote
BOBBLES WORLD TOUR Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 I would recommend a visit to the 16th Century Pub (Virtual) cache. Great pub and toasted cheesy sarnies too. Quote
+Beach_hut Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 I would recommend a visit to the 16th Century Pub (Virtual) cache. Great pub and toasted cheesy sarnies too. Oh yes that one too! Although I couldn't go in Quote
+Pan314159 Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 As a Londoner I get asked this a lot, so to try to be helpful I set up a public bookmark list of some of the caches I think are reallt great to do in London: http://www.geocaching.com/bookmarks/view.aspx?guid=b888cecd-a2c1-4c62-b96e-b9245a18fbb8 Feel free to have a look, and please let me know what you think of the list.
