+North Fork Seeker
Hi all I am back after a long absence. I am looking to restart a collection. I had a nice start at one time but when my wife was diagnosed with cancer I needed to sale off most of them for some extra cash. I only kept a few that were gifted to me a couple years ago. What I was wondering is where is the best place to buy coins. My wife loved looking at the coins and I wpuld like to build a collection that she would have been proud of, any suggestions on where to putchase or the best way to get started again would be great. Thanks in advance for the help. Quote Link to comment

Thanks in advance for the help. i hate to say it, but that auction place. sometimes there are coins i like. i go through every page looking at every coin beginning with coins ending first and newly listed at least once a week. i understand about selling...and your reason was so much more serious than mine. what has changed is my taste. i am more interested in the interesting old personals and the coin that really got me hooked on geocoins, the tranquility. i can't afford those and the personals are more in my price range. that said, i think my collection is pretty complete now. it all fits on a cabinet top, i can see it all easily. i don't have to dig them out of a box. be selective. have fun! +North Fork Seeker
Thanks Redshoesgirl, I will look into that auction site. I like all kinds of coins, but I really like coins with the pirate theme that I have seen.....I did keep three with that theme from my collection before. Quote Link to comment

+North Fork Seeker
No sweetlife.....she lost her battle, at 52 years old, with cancer on Feb 12 2013.......it has taken me awhile to get back to doing the things we enjoyed together, caching was one of those things. Coins to use went hand in hand with caching. Quote Link to comment

+nevadanick
A lot of coiners here in the forum have lists posted of available coins, many at the cointracking site. These are often at a significantly more reasonable price than the e-place. Auctions can be a good place. But you can also get trapped into overpaying for many of the pieces that makes appearances there over and over again. Welcome back !!! Quote Link to comment
+fox-and-the-hound
I agree on taking your time and keeping an eye out here. There have been a few collection sales where entire lots have been sold off and real bargains. Just letting people know you're looking here is a great start! Quote Link to comment
+drneal
my deepest sympathies on the loss of your wife. I remember you, and I remember your posts...you'll still find some familiar names posting on the geocoin forum. ILYK ILYL Quote Link to comment

+mo pirate
Sorry for your loss. I make some coins and I try to be reasonably priced. I started in 2010 to make coins so I have around 15-20 in my creation selections. Let me know if you have an interest in any as some have sold out and a few I only have 2 or 3 of and with Geowoodstock coming soon I am thinking they will be gone. Let me know if you have an interest in any of them. thanks, MO Pirate Quote Link to comment
+JackHoe
You can have a look in "the Trackables Owned" in my profile. The one's that are for sale have that mentioned under "About this item". When you buy a coin of course it will be adopted to you. Quote Link to comment

According to my profile I own 1295 coins (not all of them are for sale) something has been funky with safari lately. seems everyday something new doesn't work right. now when i look at someone's trackables, all of them are in one column on the left side of the page. the ones owned are under the ones discovered. when i check that same page in firefox trackables are in two columns, just like always. sigh.
